failure-to-thrive-1

Growth variation is normal in children 1

In the first two years of life, about a quarter of children who go on to grow normally will shift down their weight or height by more than 25 percentile points (on a standard growth curve) and then follow that percentile; this should not be assessed as failure to thrive.
