Recipes ideas for dysphagia

Making meals easy to swallow while managing nutrition

Mealtimes may not be enjoyable for a person living with dysphagia. In fact, it is common for people to avoid social eating. Restoring confidence and ensuring adequate nutrition is far more likely when adapted meals are made as tasty as possible.

Gary Brailsford, renowned dysphagia chef, has helped create a range of recipes to make a modified diet delicious. Pleasure from food can be restored with the correct ingredients and some patience.

The recipes have also been adapted to fit different levels of the IDDSI Framework. It is important to note that the ingredients used in the recipes may differ from brand to brand, therefore the recipes provided are to be used as a guide and we recommend each is tested using IDDSI testing methods.
