WHAT IS PEPTAMEN® AF?
Peptamen® AF is a 1.5 kcal/ml enteral tube feed formulated with 100% whey protein, omega-3 fats and 52% of the fat as MCT. For more Peptamen® AF nutrition information, please see below. It is a nutritionally complete Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision.
WHO IS PEPTAMEN® AF FOR?
Peptamen AF is recommended for critically ill patients, including those with:
- Sepsis
- ARDS
- Trauma
- Burns
The advanced formula of 100-percent hydrolysed whey protein is designed to help manage oxidative stress, and the high-protein content helps to maintain lean body mass. Peptamen® AF is enriched with omega-3 fatty acids to help modulate inflammatory response. It can be adjusted to the nutritional needs and feeding tolerance of the patient.

Water, maltodextrin, peptides from partially hydrolysed whey protein (milk), MCT oils, soybean oil, fish oil, minerals (sodium citrate, potassium citrate, calcium citrate, sodium phosphate, magnesium chloride, sodium chloride, magnesium oxide, potassium chloride, ferrous sulphate, zinc sulphate, manganese sulphate, copper sulphate, sodium fluoride, potassium iodide, chromium chloride, sodium selenate, sodium molybdate), emulsifiers (soy lecithin, E471), vitamins ( C, E, niacin, pantothenic acid, thiamin, B6, A, riboflavin, folic acid, K, biotin, D, B12), acidity regulator (E525), antioxidant (E304).
Gluten free.
ACBS approved, prescribable on FP10 (GP10 in Scotland). Indicated for patients as a sole or supplemented source of nutrition on medical grounds for short bowel syndrome, intractable malabsorption, pre-operative preparation of patients who are undernourished, patients with proven IBD, following total gastrectomy, bowel fistulae and disease related malnutrition.
Contraindications
Not suitable for patients with cows’ milk protein allergy.
